* FRENCH > LADY SHOT FROM A TREE, qui a officié sous le nom de CALISTA durant 5 ans sur bon nombre de petites et grandes scènes de Wallonie (e.a. sélection pour le concours Verdur Rock - Fêtes De La Musique de Louvain-La-Neuve (avec Flexa Lyndo, Millionnaire,…), dates avec les français de Calc au Magasin 4 et à l’Escalier, première partie de Paula Frazer) est un groupe de rock issu de Namur et composé de Sophie Baudelet (clavier, voix), Pierre Meremans (basse, voix), Jérémie Mortier (batterie, backgrounds électro), Florent Scarso (basse/guitare) et Damien Rixhon (guitares, voix).

La musique de LADY SHOT FROM A TREE descend en droite ligne de nos influences communes, à savoir des groupes noisy, planants et mélodiques tels que The Cure, Sonic Youth, Ride ou encore Slowdive. Qu’elles soient rageuses et ironiques ou pesantes et désabusées, les compositions du groupe existent avant tout pour mettre à nu nos démons personnels … et les partager avec quiconque voudra nous suivre dans ce monde.

* ENGLISH > LADY SHOT FROM A TREE / formerly known as Calista / is a rock band from Namur (Belgium) composed of Sophie Baudelet (Keyboard and backing vocals), Pierre Meremans (also known as Tommy) (Bass guitar and vocals), Jérémie Mortier (Drums, programming) and Damien Rixhon (Guitar, vocals).

Despite different musical backgounds (there was a life - at least, sort of - before the band), the five of us share an interest for nineties UK and US indie pop rock bands (Slowdive, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Low, The Cure, ...). Late 2002, this common playground leads the young band to start working hard on some of their own compositions.

Early 2003, Calista gets on stage for the first time, which will lead to a serie of concerts across Wallonia. The same year, they record their first demo cd, called Soon, in order to find more concert dates and get some nice reviews in french and belgian webzines. In 2004, Sophie joins the band while Christophe leaves, playing in his own band Alester. During the next summer was recorded a new eleven-track demo CD called Twisterine (available on Calista's last.fm webpage), which was the key to a few more gigs all around Belgium, from 2005 to 2007.

In 2008, time has come to say goodbye to Calista and welcome Lady Shot From A Tree. A new release saw the light of day. Called "Bubble Queen", it features 10 new songs (available on our last.fm webpage). Tommy left Belgium soon after to spend a year or two in Australia, and Florent joined the band as a new bassist.

In 2009, a new CD called "the trouble with O" is recorded. These are acoustic recordings with new songs, old songs and very old songs completely revisited. This last one can be downloaded for free on our website: www.ladyshot.be
