Résumé

La bande de Neil McCauley attaque un fourgon blindé. Le hold-up tourne mal, les convoyeurs sont tués. L'enquête est confiée au lieutenant Vincent Hanna, un policier obstiné qui engage un véritable bras de fer avec McCauley... La lutte acharnée d'un policier intègre contre un caïd de la pègre, des personnages présentés comme des archétypes, une stylisation et une distanciation extrêmes font de "Heat" une oeuvre qui manque parfois de profondeur. La rencontre tant attendue des deux monstres sacrés évite le cabotinage par un jeu décalé, speedé quand il ne devrait pas l'être, et retenu quand on s'y attend le moins.
