Keiko

Virtuose
du marimba et compositrice japonaise, Keiko Abe s'emploie
à enseigner et à populariser le marimba (xylophone
africain à lamelles de bambou, munies d'un résonateur
en calebasse) de par le monde comme instrument soliste,
au même titre que le violon ou le piano.
Son
répertoire de percussionniste touche tous les genres
musicaux (musique classique, populaire, folklorique, contemporaine,
improvisations et ses propres créations). Sa maîtrise
de l'instrument a incité des compositeurs japonais
à composer pour elle.
